Home to England's national rugby union team, Twickenham Stadium sits in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and serves as headquarters for the Rugby Football Union. It holds the distinction of being the world's largest rugby union stadium and the second largest in the United Kingdom after Wembley. Beyond international fixtures, the venue has hosted major rugby events including Premiership Rugby matches, the Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge, and European Rugby Champions Cup games. It has also welcomed rugby league and American football, staging the Rugby Football League's Challenge Cup Final and NFL London Games. The stadium's reach extends well beyond sport. A diverse roster of artists—from Rihanna and U2 to the Rolling Stones, Metallica, and many others—have performed concerts there. In August 2024, the stadium was renamed Allianz Stadium following a long-term investment agreement with the insurance company Allianz.
