Home to some of Australia's biggest sporting moments, Accor Stadium sits in Sydney Olympic Park and has hosted everything from the 2000 Summer Olympics onwards. The venue originally opened in March 1999 with a capacity of around 115,000, making it the largest Olympic Stadium ever built and Australia's biggest stadium at the time. The stadium underwent significant changes in 2003, when its north and south wings were shortened and movable seating was installed. These modifications brought capacity down to 80,000, though this can flex depending on how the venue is configured. The same reconfiguration added protective awnings over the north and south stands, so most seats now enjoy cover from the elements. Today the stadium is owned by Venues NSW on behalf of the New South Wales Government, and operates under sponsorship naming. Whether you're catching a major sporting fixture or major event, the combination of its Olympic legacy and modern facilities makes it a landmark venue.
