Borussia Dortmund's home ground in Germany ranks among Europe's most atmospheric football stadiums. Known officially as Signal Iduna Park and originally called Westfalenstadion, the venue holds 81,365 spectators for league matches and 65,829 for international competition. It stands as Germany's largest stadium and Europe's seventh-largest, surpassed only by Camp Nou among homes of top-flight European clubs. The stadium's most distinctive feature is its south terrace, the Südtribüne, which accommodates 24,454 standing supporters and holds the European record for largest terrace of its kind. This section, affectionately known as Die Gelbe Wand (The Yellow Wall), generates an intensity that defines matchday experience here. The ground has hosted major tournaments including the 1974 and 2006 FIFA World Cups and the 2001 UEFA Cup Final, whilst also staging international friendlies and European club competition.
