Home to both AC Milan and Inter Milan, this San Siro stadium holds over 80,000 spectators, making it Italy's largest and one of Europe's biggest. The venue earned its official name, Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, in 1980, honouring the two-time World Cup winner who played for both resident clubs during the early twentieth century and managed Inter across two separate periods. The ground has hosted major tournaments throughout its history. It staged matches during the 1934 and 1990 FIFA World Cups, as well as Euro 1980, and has been the stage for four European Cup finals. As a UEFA category four stadium, it continues to attract world-class football. Looking ahead, the venue will host the opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics, shared between Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
