Intercity Istanbul Park is a motor racing venue in the Tuzla district of Istanbul, designed by renowned racetrack architect Hermann Tilke. It opened in August 2005 and has hosted major international racing events since. The circuit gained prominence when former Formula One Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone, who managed it from 2007 to 2011, described it as "the best race track in the world." Today, Turkish company Intercity operates the facility, taking over management in 2012.
