The venue operates under dual naming conventions due to alcohol advertising restrictions in certain nations. While Chang International Circuit is the commercial designation used for most purposes, FIM documentation refers to it by its non-commercial name to comply with sponsorship laws in France and Qatar. This administrative distinction reflects the international regulations governing motorsport venues and their commercial partnerships.
