Bahrain International Circuit opened its gates in 2004 as a landmark venue for motorsport in the Middle East, hosting that year's inaugural Formula One Grand Prix in the region. Since then, it has established itself as a premier destination for high-octane racing, welcoming Formula One annually alongside GP2 Series competitors (now known as FIA Formula 2) and drag racing events. The circuit's versatility extends beyond single-seaters. From 2006, Australian V8 Supercars competed here in the Desert 400, though this partnership concluded after the 2010 season. Endurance enthusiasts will find 24-hour races on the calendar as well. With its FIA Grade 1 license and multiple layout configurations, the circuit can adapt to suit different racing formats and competitive needs, making it a flexible home for diverse motorsport disciplines.
