It has been on the Grand Prix calendar since 1981, making it a relatively contemporary event. The home of the San Marino MotoGP is the Misano circuit, but it has also been held at Mugello and Imola. Honda is the manufacturer with the most wins at the San Marin motorcycle Grand Prix, because it has 18 wins overall. The only other manufacturer with wins in MotoGP is Yamaha and Ducati. The most successful riders at the top category are Spaniards Marc Marques and Jorge Lorenzo, with 3 wins. Valentino Rossi also has 3 wins at MotoGP but failed to win in the other categories.
